We are currently recruiting for 7.5 hours per week on a temporary, fixed-term contract basis for Optical Assistant jobs in North Shields. This is an ideal opportunity to join a busy community practice in Tyne and Wear and support patients with their eyecare needs.
What you'll be doing
- Welcoming patients to the practice and managing appointments
- Helping customers choose frames and lenses that suit their prescription and lifestyle
- Taking accurate measurements and adjusting frames for a comfortable fit
- Dispensing spectacles and processing orders efficiently
- Supporting the wider team with general day-to-day practice operations
What we're looking for
- Previous experience in a customer service or retail environment, ideally within optics
- Excellent communication skills and a friendly, approachable manner
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy when handling orders and measurements
- A team player who is comfortable working in a fast-paced retail environment
- Willingness to learn about optical products and services
