We are looking to fill permanent Optical Assistant jobs in Doncaster starting as soon as possible, offering a permanent contract with flexible shift patterns. Based on North Bridge Rd, this position gives you the chance to work within a busy and supportive practice environment while delivering a great customer journey.
What you'll be doing
- Assisting customers with frame selection, styling advice, and dispensing basic eyewear
- Pre-screening patients by performing initial clinical measurements and optical photography
- Adjusting, repairing, and fitting spectacles to ensure a comfortable and precise fit
- Managing bookings, answering customer enquiries by phone and in person, and handling general reception duties
- Maintaining dispensary stock levels and keeping the practice floor clean, tidy, and well-presented
What we're looking for
- A minimum of 6 months of recent optical experience gained in a customer-facing practice setting
- Applicants must be over 18 years of age to meet regulatory requirements for this workplace
- The ability to commit to flexible working hours across the week, including regular weekend shifts
- A friendly, approachable manner with a strong passion for delivering exceptional customer service
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a close-knit team
