We are looking for a customer-focused team member to take on a permanent Optical Assistant role based in Cambridge. This 37.5 hours per week position offers the chance to build a rewarding career in eye care with a supportive local team.
What you'll be doing
- Providing a warm, professional welcome to every customer who visits the practice
- Guiding patients through frame selection, helping them find styles that suit their face shape and prescription
- Taking accurate optical measurements and dispensing glasses to a high standard
- Booking appointments, answering telephone enquiries, and managing reception duties
- Working weekend shifts as part of the regular team rota
What we're looking for
- A minimum of 6 months of optical experience gained within a practice environment
- Strong communication skills and a natural flair for customer service
- Excellent attention to detail and confidence working with numbers
- A collaborative team player who is comfortable working in a busy retail setting
- A genuine commitment to completing the advertised hours on a permanent basis
