We are recruiting a permanent full-time Optical Assistant job on Low Pavement in Chesterfield, offering a great opportunity to join a busy practice and deliver exceptional customer care.
What you'll be doing
- Providing a warm welcome to patients and visitors as they arrive at the practice
- Dispensing spectacles and helping customers select frames that suit their style and prescription needs
- Undertaking pre-screening duties, including OCT scans and visual acuity checks
- Adjusting, repairing and fitting glasses to ensure a comfortable and accurate fit
- Managing bookings, answering telephone enquiries and handling general reception duties
What we're looking for
- NVQ Level 2 in Optical Studies or a UK equivalent qualification
- A minimum of 6 months of recent optical experience gained within a practice environment
- Excellent communication skills and a confident, friendly manner with customers of all ages
- Availability to work weekend shifts as part of a standard rota
- Candidates must be aged 18 or over due to the specific age restrictions associated with this role
