We are recruiting an Optical Assistant for a part-time practice role on the Guernsey High Street, featuring a competitive salary and weekend shifts. What you'll be doing
- Welcoming patients into the practice and managing appointments
- Dispensing spectacles and helping customers choose frames and lens options that suit their lifestyle and prescription
- Performing pre-screening tests, including OCT scans and visual fields where required
- Adjusting, repairing and fitting glasses to ensure a comfortable and precise fit
- Handling enquiries over the phone and in person with a friendly, professional manner
- Maintaining high standards of presentation and cleanliness throughout the practice floor
What we're looking for
- Previous experience working in customer service, retail or an optical environment is preferred, though full training will be provided
- Strong communication skills and a natural flair for helping people
- A team player who is comfortable working in a fast-paced retail setting
- Willingness to work regular weekend shifts as part of a flexible rota
