We are recruiting a Dispensing Optician for 37.5 hours per week on a permanent contract, based in the Metro Centre, Gateshead. This is an opportunity to join a busy practice delivering expert eye care and exceptional customer service to the local community.
What you'll be doing
- Dispensing spectacles and optical appliances to patients of all ages with varied visual needs
- Providing professional, tailored advice on frames, lenses and coatings to suit individual lifestyles and prescriptions
- Conducting frame styling consultations and ensuring precise measurements and fitting
- Handover and adjustment of completed eyewear, checking for comfort and visual accuracy
- Supporting the wider practice team with daily clinical and retail duties to maintain a smooth patient journey
- Maintaining accurate patient records and adhering to professional standards and regulatory guidelines
What we're looking for
- GOC registered Dispensing Optician with a current, unrestricted licence to practise
- Passionate about delivering high standards of patient care and customer satisfaction
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex optical options clearly
- Confident working as part of a collaborative team in a fast-paced retail environment
- Organised, approachable and detail-oriented
