We are looking for a customer-focused team member to take on a permanent 30 hours per week Optical Assistant position in Witney, offering a hands-on path to build a rewarding career in optics.
What you'll be doing
- Welcoming customers into the practice and helping them feel at ease from the moment they arrive
- Guiding patients through frame selection, helping them find glasses that suit their style, prescription, and budget
- Taking accurate facial measurements and dispensing a variety of lenses and frames
- Adjusting, repairing, and fitting eyewear to ensure a comfortable and secure fit
- Booking appointments, managing enquiries over the phone, and handling general reception duties
- Working closely with optometrists and the wider practice team to ensure a smooth, professional customer journey
What we're looking for
- A warm, friendly personality with a genuine passion for delivering exceptional customer service
- Strong communication skills and the confidence to engage with people of all ages
- Good attention to detail and comfortable working in a busy retail environment
- Previous experience in optical retail, customer service, or sales is welcomed, though full training will be provided
