About this role
Kindsight in Leicester is seeking a Qualified Dispensing Optician to join their Leicester practice at Suite 1 Floor 8, 60 Charles Street, LE1 1FB. This role is central to delivering comprehensive optical care, working collaboratively with optometrists and the wider practice team to ensure a seamless patient journey.
Your core responsibilities will include:
- Interpreting ophthalmic prescriptions with precision.
- Providing expert guidance on frame and lens selection, considering aesthetic and functional needs.
- Taking accurate patient measurements to ensure optimal spectacle fit.
- Fitting and adjusting spectacles, ensuring comfort and visual acuity.
- Effectively managing complex dispensing cases.
- Conducting contact lens aftercare where required.
You will play a vital part in translating clinical findings into practical eyewear solutions, contributing to the overall patient experience at Kindsight.

Requirements for a Qualified Dispensing Optician at Kindsight, Leicester
To excel as a Dispensing Optician at Kindsight in Leicester, GOC registration as a Dispensing Optician (FBDO) is essential. You will be expected to demonstrate proficiency in a range of technical skills.
This includes:
- Taking accurate patient measurements, such as pupillary distance (PD) and segment heights.
- Possessing comprehensive lens knowledge, covering single vision, varifocal, and occupational lenses.
- Undertaking expert frame selection and adjustment to ensure optimal fit and comfort.
