Requirements
To be considered for the Optometrist role at Carl Love Opticians, full registration with the General Optical Council (GOC) is essential. You will need a recognised BSc or MOptom degree in Optometry, successfully completed a pre-registration year, and hold a current GOC certificate of completion.
We expect proficiency in core clinical skills, including comprehensive sight testing, contact lens fitting, fundus examination, and the ability to interpret OCT scans.
Crucially, you must possess excellent patient communication skills, demonstrating empathy and clarity. Attention to detail in examinations and record-keeping is paramount. A commitment to multidisciplinary teamwork, collaborating effectively with colleagues, is also highly valued.
Additional qualifications, such as independent prescribing, glaucoma accreditation, or WOPEC qualifications, would be advantageous and are encouraged.
