As an Optometrist, your core responsibilities will include:
- Conducting thorough eye examinations to assess visual acuity and ocular health.

- Prescribing appropriate corrective lenses, including spectacles and contact lenses.
- Making timely referrals to ophthalmology when necessary for specialist management.

Requirements
To excel as an Optometrist at Burrows & Close Ltd in Nottingham, GOC registration is essential. You will require a recognised BSc or MOptom in Optometry and successful completion of a pre-registration year.
The role demands proficiency in core clinical skills, including comprehensive sight testing, contact lens fitting, and fundus examination. Experience with OCT interpretation is highly valued.
Crucially, you must possess excellent patient communication skills, a keen attention to detail, and the ability to engage in multidisciplinary teamwork. Additional qualifications such as independent prescribing, glaucoma accreditation, or WOPEC certifications would be particularly advantageous.
