Requirements
To be considered for an Optometrist position at Alford Opticians, GOC registration is essential. You will require a recognised degree in Optometry (BSc or MOptom) and successful completion of a pre-registration programme.
Key clinical skills include proficiency in routine sight testing, contact lens fitting, fundus examination, and the ability to interpret OCT scans. Strong patient communication and attention to detail are vital for delivering exceptional care.
You should also possess the ability to engage in multidisciplinary teamwork with other healthcare professionals. While not mandatory, qualifications such as independent prescribing, glaucoma accreditation, or WOPEC certification would be highly advantageous for this role in East Lindsey.
