About this role
Acuitis (Lincoln) seeks a Qualified Dispensing Optician to join their practice at 192 High Street, Lincoln.
This role encompasses the full spectrum of dispensing, from interpreting complex ophthalmic prescriptions to guiding patients through frame and lens selection. You will be responsible for taking precise measurements to ensure optimal spectacle fit and will carry out expert fitting and adjustment of eyewear.
Your expertise will be crucial in managing challenging dispensing cases and providing contact lens aftercare. You will collaborate closely with the resident optometrist and the wider practice team, contributing to a seamless patient journey and ensuring the highest standards of optical care are delivered.

Requirements
To excel as a Qualified Dispensing Optician at Acuitis (Lincoln), you must hold GOC registration as a dispensing optician (FBDO qualification).
Essential technical proficiencies include accurate measurement-taking, such as pupillary distance (PD) and optical centre heights. You will demonstrate comprehensive lens knowledge, encompassing single vision, varifocal, and occupational lenses, alongside skillful frame selection and adjustment.
Contact lens competence, ideally with a CLO qualification, is advantageous. Crucially, you will possess excellent patient-facing skills, characterised by clear communication and empathy.
Additional qualifications, such as in low vision, paediatric dispensing, or management training, would further strengthen your application. We seek individuals dedicated to providing exceptional optical care within our Lincoln practice.
